Interests

I have many interests and pursue many fun things. Many people who know me often speak of me leading a double life, because I have one set of interests that is often public facing, and then some personal interests people never really know about. I am not sure I consider this a double life, but just the fact that I often do not mix different parts of my life and interests together.

Travel is one interest I am sure I share with most people - I love to travel and can never seem to get enough. I enjoy seeing all this world has to offer and have most of the United States, most of Canada, and some of Mexico and the Bahamas and Caribbean Islands.  I have recently completed my first trip to Europe, where John and explored Munich, Germany.

I love to dance as well.  If there is a dance event happening where I am, then I am likely going to be there, and of course if there is a flagging opportunity the opportunity is even more likely that I will be there.  I love dancing to many different types of music, from Country Western, to Psy-Trance, Techno, and of course good old diva and non-diva style club dance music.  I have competed in the country and western dance circuit within the International Gay Rodeo Association, and was a dance champion in that area as well as a judge for dance competitions.

Many other things have taken interest for me, including flow arts like Flagging and Poi Spinning.  Additionally, I have become very interested in party and event production, working with a great team to produce one of the largest dance fund raising events in San Francisco, Real Bad. I also work with a great group on the production of the PLAY T-Dance parties, which bring back some fun and frolic into the dance arena, making it more fun and enjoyable to be part of.  We have hosted such great talent at these parties, and I encourage you to come check one out next time you are in San Francisco.  We host them on President’s Day Weekend in February and during the Up Your Alley (Dore Alley) Street Fair Weekend.

Last, but certainly not least in my interests is Burning Man.  I have been attending this event with John since we met in 2004 (many people said if we could do this after only knowing each other a few months we could survive anything). This is an amazing event unlike anything else I have ever done. I camp with the PlayaFairies in Fairyland, which is a group of wonderful folks from across the US and Europe, and we are part of a large theme village called Avalon. I encourage you to go to the Burning Man website and take a look around because words can not express what this event is like - you just have to experience it yourself. You can also view the many pictures in my galleries of the events.
