Jim,

I do take the criticism in a positive way and I appreciate your response. I know that this review is based on one opinion alone but I do take it seriously. I try to be a perfectionist when it comes to my music, and I will admit, I'm human, and at times miss the mark. I heard nothing but great things about the event, even when it wasn't supposed to be a club event and was only meant to be a lounge event. Either way, I want to be sure that there are no hard feelings in any way. I follow your columns and appreciate your feedback on events. It's nice to get that perspective. I do hope you get the chance to see me again and I assure you, your opinion of my music will change. Happy New Year!

Shane,
Checked out the definition of "criticism" - Criticism is the judgement of the merits and faults of the work or actions of an individual or group by another (the critic). To criticize does not necessarily imply to find fault, but the word is often taken to mean the simple expression of an objection against prejudice, or a disapproval. A critics job is to look closely, provide personal perspective and feedback on what they see and report on that perspective. Most people only look at criticism as negative and do not see it for the opportunity to grow, develop, learn and improve. We at The Juice Box critique events with a goal of raising the bar, pushing for improvements and making the dance and music scene a better place for all of those who absolutely love the music, the parties and the scene. Our criticism is done out of a sense of that love and honor, not to elicit debate or any harm. As with all artistic expression (and with most other things) some people love it, some people dislike it, some will agree and some will disagree. Hopefully over time the improvements lead everyone to enjoy what they experience more.

Again, I'd like to thank you for your criticism, although harsh and particularly biased, I to appreciate them. I hope you can come see me next time I am playing somewhere near you and may change your view of my mixing abilities and sound. You have my email, keep in touch! :-)
