The anticipation of the changes coming the White Party in Palm Springs was realized Friday as the loyal, faithful, and many new party attendees began arriving in Palm Springs. The weather for day one was a perfect day of full sunshine and gorgeous blue skies as the first events started.

Day 1 is a traditionally slower day, as the men and boys from all over the country make their way to the desert to start. We arrived a bit after noon to the newly remodeled Renaissance Palm Springs hotel. The remodel has turned the rather worn out and sometime dumpy Wyndham hotel, into a clean, more modern, and even I dare say chic hotel choice. I can’t say that I have seen a better job on a remodel of a hotel, and I certainly believe this raised the bar for the event right away. All of the details even down to the newly cleaned up pool area made quite an impression on me.

We entered the check in, got our passes and headed pool side to listen to our home town favorite, DJ Luke Johnston, spinning a great mix of newer music he was trying out that had many South American/Brazilian influences, church music, diva driven vocals, and so much more. He dropped in many great mixes of classic songs for a T-dance that make you want to stand up and dance and bounce. It certainly has San Francisco’s own diva, Suzan Revah, dancing around and it was something the crowd was ready to do as well.

While we left to go an prepare with a trip to go shopping and get a small house party ready, word from the street and confirmed by Juice Box sources like Suzan, told us that the party built and continued to grow into what had to be one of the better Friday pool parties ever pulled out at White Party Palm Springs.

A great afternoon and the fun begins!
